Downstairs

The ground floor has a cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove in the ancient fireplace which still has bread ovens on either side. There are lovely hygge-style creature comforts as well as a TV, board games, large selection of books, an Alexa speaker and also a dining area.

The old log shed has been transformed into the kitchen, shower room and loo.  

The kitchen has underfloor heating and is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and all the pots, pans, plates and cutlery for easy catering. It has a stable door opening onto the terrace where there is a table and chairs and a bbq—perfect for stepping outside to enjoy your morning coffee.

Upstairs

The bedroom is a lovely, huge, light-filled room which opens, through glass doors, onto a balcony. The balcony is decked, has cane chairs and overlooks the gardens, orchard and Buzzards Woods. It is a beautifully decorated room, with lovely pictures, panelled walls and it is gloriously comfortable. Everyone loves it.

The superking bed is super comfortable - made by Hypnos, with white Soak & Sleep linen, we provide bathrobes and have added the luxury of a freestanding bath at the foot of the bed.  

There is a writing table and the WIFI is excellent.

Garden and Orchards

Without doubt the best part of Spring Cottage is its proximity to Buzzards Woods. This is an enchanting deciduous woodland which changes all through the year and is always a delight. If you wander around in the very early morning you will often see deer, maybe a fox and there is rumour of otters. The bird life is rich and varied, in Spring and Summer the meadows host a variety of butterflies and the river Dart is a joy.

Spring Cottage has a terrace through the kitchens’ stable doors. There are chairs and a table, and a BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining on warm evenings.
